My name is Jose Velazquez, and my journey into tattooing started with a love for art, culture, and storytelling. Growing up, I was drawn to the powerful imagery of West Coast lettering and Chicano black and grey designs—styles that carried history, pride, and identity. What began as sketches and passion has grown into a career where I get to leave my mark on people in the most permanent and meaningful way.
In 2013, I opened A Toda Madre Tattoos in Reno, Nevada, with a vision: to create more than just a tattoo shop. I wanted a space where art, culture, and professionalism come together—a place where clients feel welcomed, respected, and confident that their ideas will be transformed into masterpieces. Over the years, I’ve built lasting connections with clients who trust me not just with their skin, but with their stories.
Tattooing has given me the opportunity to blend creativity with community, and it continues to drive me every single day. For me, it’s never just about the ink—it’s about creating work that people carry with them for life, work that speaks to who they are.
